Sports Memorabilia & Annual Golf Tournament

In the fall of 1999, the former "Lacon Country Club" (Now Timber Ridge Golf Club) in Lacon, IL was put up for sale. The club is part of Marshall County History as it was founded in the fall of 1923, breaking ground in 1924. Timber Ridge recently celebrated its 100 year anniversary in 2024.

When the club was purchased in 1999, the decision was made to totally remodel the current facility and do some updating. In this quest, it was decided to make the both bar and the restaurant all about the area, depicting some of the most important historical items that help shaped Marshall County, making it special to people in the area.

It was orginally decided to make the restaurant all about agriculture. Large family farm pictures and farm memories of the area can be found in the restaurant. The agriculture legacy in many of our farm families is contained in this room.

The sports bar is now called the Eagles Nest.

The ownership decided to make the bar area all about sports in what is designated as the Tri-County Conference. They set goals of collecting memorabilia from everyone around who was willing to share pictures, jackets, uniforms, trophies, newspaper clippings, plaques, etc.

The result? They had resounding success, and filled our walls and cases with unique memorabilia! It is important to point out, every effort was made to historically share all pieces of info with accuracy so that coming and looking at all of the displays was a memorable and historical experience.

To support this website and our current endeavors to complete as much historical (and future) information as accurately as possible, we hold and Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser each year, of course, at Timber Ridge Golf Club! We invite you to participate, and sign-up details are posted each year in the beginning of May.
